A family who works together, grows together.
That could be said of Larry Hackett Construction,
Inc. Larry started his business in 1979 and in subsequent
years, he went on to hire two brothers, his son and
his daughter. At one time, his wife even worked in
the office. The company was established in and continues
to expand its longtime location in Oakland, Iowa.
In 1984, Larry’s brother, Tom, joined the building
industry and is currently the company’s Trim
Crew Foreman. Gary, also Larry’s brother, came
aboard in 1990. He is the Cabinet Shop Foreman.
During any time off from school, his son, Corey,
and daughter, Carley, each worked various jobs for
their dad. Corey officially joined the company in
1995 and is currently the Project Manager. Carley,
the most recent family addition to the business, joined
in 2003 as Administrative Assistant.

Larry Hackett, owner of Larry Hackett Construction, Inc., is a professional who knows the building industry from the ground up.
With over 30 years of experience, he understands all phases of the construction process from planning and design to building and finishing.
The importance of quality and fine craftsmanship has been a tradition with Larry Hackett Construction, Inc. Steve and Barb Grandfield
agree that “It’s the highest quality home we have owned.”
Larry got his start at an early age, working for a contractor after graduating high school in 1974. He decided to start his own business
five years later. Getting his entrepreneurial start with small remodeling jobs, Larry now builds 14 homes a year, on the average. In 1990,
he began construction on his first exclusive land development of condominiums. The project was completed in 1999 with a total of 16 units.
He has since sold the development and moved on to purchase his first subdivision, Grandfield Estates, in 2003.

With the majority of its work done in southwest Iowa, Larry Hackett Construction,
Inc. specializes in constructing homes starting
at $250,000 and up, including floor plans for
ranch, 1 ½ story and 2 story homes.
Larry is a member of the Oakland Chamber of Commerce, the Council Bluffs Building Trades Association and the Home Builders Association of Greater
